CalSAE and DeLizia Consulting Services have partnered to develop a set of association governance tools designed to improve organizational productivity, decision-making, and communication among your Board, committees, and staff. These tools have been field-tested and peer-reviewed to validate their effectiveness, and can be customized to meet your association’s particular needs and structure.

We've developed two sets of tools.

This package contains a complete set of materials to conduct a Board orientation based on best practices in association management and will clearly lay out the roles, responsibilities, and expectations of the leadership team, including the Board/CEO partnership. The package includes a facilitator’s guide for the CEO and Board Chair, an extensive set of visual aids, participant handouts, reference checklists, and more. All materials are customizable and can be used to deliver a comprehensive orientation or a more targeted program focusing on selected needs.

The Board Orientation package will:

• Save time with a ready-made set of tools and complete instructions
• Allow you to customize the tools for your own needs (PowerPoint and Word-based)
• Provide a set of field-tested materials that have been peer-reviewed by other association CEOs
• Engage participants with activities and handouts
• Guide staff or elected leader facilitators with complete instructions, as well as a 23-page facilitator guide, PowerPoint slides, a set of 11 activity worksheets and training aids

This package contains an extensive guide on working with the Board to increase meeting productivity and support improved communication with committees. It has extensive examples and practical tools, such as a strategic board agenda template, committee reporting and recommendation tools, and a board meeting evaluation tool.

The Board Meeting Productivity package contains:
