Event Details

Join your Bay Area Region peers for an afternoon of volunteering to help set-up the BeChinatown Night Market in San Francisco. It is a slice of Old SF Chinatown, complete with nostalgia, history, and a great ambiance. Afterwards we'll head to Far East Café, for a networking social (1 drink and appetizers included).  You are also welcome to join for the social portion only (please still register).

Event setup tasks will include: 

  • Close roads to traffic
  • Set up canopies 
  • Set up tables
  • Set up chairs
  • Set up signage
  • Set up ticketing area 
  • Gather food from local restaurants

BeChinatown is a coalition of community leaders, residents, merchants, property owners, and San Francisco locals who work together on a common vision to support the local Chinatown community.  The main volunteer and logistical force are Chinatown Volunteer Coalition, CVC, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving the San Francisco Asian American Community by uplifting small businesses, increasing awareness of available resources to those limited by technology and language. They also host public events to increase familiarity within and from outside of the local Asian American community.

  • All volunteers for the Chinatown Night Market must acknowledge their code of conduct prior to volunteering and fill out a form. The link will be sent to you in your confirmation email. All volunteers must attend a mandatory virtual event briefing prior to the event.
