Professional Bio
Denize is the Manager of Membership Engagement at the California Society of Association Executives Inc. (CalSAE); she is responsible for member engagement and growth for CalSAE and manages member recruitment, retention, and volunteer programming. She served as the Community Outreach and Health Education Manager for La Familia, a non-profit community services agency in the SF/Bay Area; where she worked for almost a decade coordinating several behavioral and health-focused grant-based programs to alleviate disparities in underserved communities. She has an extensive background in volunteer engagement systems, particularly the community health worker model, which helped her lead the Parent Ambassador Program for Hayward Unified District from inception in 2015 to 2022, having it become a national model for other districts to follow. In her earlier years, she also served as a legal advocate and outreach ambassador for the non-profit Immigrants Rising, providing educational and legal support to undocumented students, families, and allies. She received the Koshland Civic Unity Award and served as a fellow with the Koshland Program at the San Francisco Foundation. Denize completed her studies at San Francisco State University in Sociology/ Latinx studies with a focus on immigrant rights. Denize was awarded the 2023 John Graham Fund ReadyMe Scholarship by the ASAE Research Foundation and selected as a 2023 Next Gen Scholar by the American Society of Association Executives™ (ASAE). She continues to work on special projects outside of CalSAE and resides in Sacramento with her two pups and spouse.
